I am the primary wage earner in a household of 6.  I was recently fired from my job as a result of caregiving services I provide for my husband who is disabled and unable to work.  My husband is in need of care provided by me and I need to find the services that are out there to provide me with the income necessary to provide for my family.  I have been unable to find anyone to talk to me about this.  also I am desperate to find assistance to help me save my home, we are getting very close to the point of foreclosure.  I need income and assistance to help keep us afloat and the chance to get back on our feet....Please someone help us!!

Hopeful1, I worked in the caregiving field dealing primarily with Alzhiemer.  It is really tough no matter what the cause to have only one wage earner, especially when you are also the primary caregiver of a loved one.  I am new in Texas but there are two sites that may be able to point you to some resources.  "The Visiting Nurse Association of Texas" can sometimes provide extra help through community funding.  Also, perhaps the "National Family Caregiver Association" can give you some feedback, resources, and a word or two from someone in your similar situation.  Is there any recourse financially with Social Security --especially if you have children under the age of 18?  I don't know if any of this helps, and perhaps you have thought of all this already.  It is a difficult situation and my heart goes out to you.
